Hello, I'm currently Sr. Firmware Engineer and thinking about taking PMP certification course. I want to get some feedback on this certification on when to get and will it be effective for the career growth whatsoever? I'm thinking about taking up Management Role for my next career move!
Depends on what career path you would like to take
Not really, it's for stuffy project managers. The content is not bad though. If you want project management style things you'll be better off selling yourself as a scrum master or something like they.
But I guess if company is paying for the certification then better add up to the portfolio.
+1 to that.. I added quite a few certs to my resume just coz company was paying for it.. Plus, Pmp is expensive and requires prior PM experience I guess.
PMP is expensive? Try CSM! Costs 1K !!!
Doubtful that it helps anywhere other than big old companies and government roles. Just start managing successful projects and build a track record of success.
Where do I get a PIMP certification?
Snoop Dogg.. Costs you 50 cents 😂
CSM over PMP, or SAFe certification. There’s less and less attraction to waterfall these days.
I have seen few job descriptions specifically mentioning PmP cert as basic/preferred qualification. That said I don’t think it’s much use when you land a job. It’s all experience that counts from then on.
