I can definitely see how eng are moving between FAANG, but what about non technical like sales, marketing etc. I see people coming from either consultancies, banks or ad agencies. Does just having FAANG help you move to another FAANG even in different roles or is it experience that matters more?
Like seriously lots of people go back to previous companies after FB (like banking or random start ups). Does having it on CV really made a difference for them? They probably stepped up to higher roles but could they have done it anyway?
What is FAANG?
Facebook Amazon Apple Netflix Google
Welcome to blind.
It does to a certain degree. Some automated systems do process it via rules engines such as: degree pedigree (MIT, Stanford) and Fortune 500 or FAANG etc. Microsoft absolutely does it and and you do get emails from our v-recruiters stating that person worked for AWS or FB etc.
Big company name always helps
Totally agree. But is having a higher role at VMware (ie manager) less valuable than lower role at FAANG (not a manager)?
Fb forever!
