I'm not very proficient with java yet (only one year of professional java experience). Considering the interview atmosphere, i will likely make mistakes
Normally you may choose to use any (non-esoteric) language for the interview.
Meh, no EmojiCode then? 😢
Not at all. The recruiter will ask you to choose a language ahead of time and then give you interviewers who know that language. You should use the language you’re comfortable with.
Wait, you’re not proficient at a language after 1 year of professional use?
I guess i can code in java. But I don't know all the pitfalls and shortcuts like I do in Javascript
JavaScript should be fine. I did the same in my interview. As long as you're clear about the semantics and can explain the logic when asked you should be fine
Unless it's for a frontend position, I say it's very bad.
Just use JS or whatever language you're comfortable with. Honestly it's more concerning you don't even know this.
