Technically, You're on PIP with anything less than MA. They'll start to track your progress, provide you with mentorship opportunities and your manager will micro manage a bit more with intention to get you back on track. That said, it's quite easy to come out of one MM than multiple consecutive ones. Meta is a pay for performance company.

Yes 100%. Your Managers job is to ensure you succeed. That said, the employee also has to show intention to succeed and show positive trends. Skip Manager/Director will get involved if no progress is made over multiple cycles. They'd try to provide you with even more resources. At that point, the employee is on the hot seat to show definitive progress.

I have seen decent amount of packages and MM is usually not a surprise for a person. Usually they would fail almost every project they took on and donât have good signals in other areas (e.g no people contributions). During mashups every manager is really supportive and tries to help prepare a better package. I was really surprised of how fair it was. If you are delivering at Amazon you will be fine at Meta.

You dont get PIPed automatically after getting 2 consecutive MMs. I know people that were fine because their trajectory was strong at the end. You CAN get PIPed without ever getting an MM rating... no one is waiting for a full performance cycle if it's clear you're not meeting the bar and are not on a trajectory to get there
I have seen people being let go with 1 mm. I have also seen people with MM, get EE next half. If you get MM and do not improve, you can be let go sooner.

This is not true. Itâs common to get MM for IC5+. The key is trend. If you are over time trending up (MM->MA (Promo) -> MM) then itâs fine. But after the first MM your manager is supposed to help you identify the gaps you need to improve and work together to close them. If you donât or they donât support you then it looks bad on them
