Does people help in transferring domain knowledge as well as intial help required in Microsoft as tech stack is internal to them or we are on our own. How is culture with this regard.
I absolutely agree with survival mode. Having joined as a recent l62 I was made a one man army with 0 head start. Surely enough, I had to hit a lot of walls all by myself to get to know stuff. Quite a challenge but totally worth it too 🦸♂️

On my team we get you paired with someone from the get go. It greatly speeds up onboarding and productivity. A mentor is there to help you with all the new hire and getting setup questions as well as just navigating the building and getting included in lunches with the team in general. You are matched with experienced folks as you navigate through various tasks from day one. They work with you to help you get up to speed. Or management also helps you get exposure to everything we work on and we even look for high impact projects to aid in your career progression. We discourage silos and want the knowledge to be shared, instead. Our team is ever growing and rarely do folks transfer out, but management will help you with that if it's what you want. No judgement, just support the entire time. I wish our way of work was the norm, but obviously it's not, sadly. We're trying! (I really am just an IC, Sr dev, and I don't do recruiting)

My onboarding experience is the worst as well. Most teams follow the sink or swim culture. There was some outdated documentation but you have to figure out by yourself mostly. Few years in, I still have not recovered from the horrific nightmare I had during the first 8 months. The mentor assigned to me was the worst ahole one could imagine. I am actively leetcoding now and will vote with my feet.

Israeli precision-guided munition likely killed group of children playing foosball in Gaza, weapons experts say
The worst onboarding experience for me. Msft use survival mode which means you figure things out yourself. The goal is not to let junior engineer check in feature code until a year after when they gained enough experience from bug fixings. The work environment is not friendly to new hire at all.
Do they have any documentation in place
Yes but depend on teams. There is too much backstabbing so make sure you make friend with the right people in your team after onboard.
