Does your company allow personal credit card for travel?
Curious which companies allow employees to use a personal credit card for booking business travel vs forcing use of corporate card. And if corporate, do you get to keep points? Details appreciated. IBM - Forces booking of air, hotel, car, and anything else bookable on Concur on the corporate card. Pays a per diem to employee depending on destination usually 50-60/day. IBM keeps Amex points.
Google does. But they strongly prefer you to use company card.
I’ve heard that but what exactly does that mean “strongly prefer”? I’m guessing it means have a cool manager? Cause given the option it’s all going on the 3x points card ya know?
Amazon has a company card for roles that frequently expense, like EA's and people who's job requires frequent travel. Everyone else expenses on their own card.
Microsoft requires Corp Amex for travel, and all booked through Concur. Fringe cases in countries where AMEX is not accepted, you can use personal. You keep all points. Also, you can upgrade card to Member rewards or Business platinum (you pay fee)
Forced to use a company card. The point of this is that the company gets the cut off credit card fees, not employees. I view company travel as a perk , so I am happy.

Ps I view travel to cool places you can extend as a perk but m-f in not cool places every single week can get old pretty quick
Yes, this is my situation. Travel to HQ alot, which is chores mostly. Sure, there is free food and airmiles, but I would rather not do this.
Mine does! I get a LOT of points and it’s all paid for by the company :)
