Give jobs to Americans first! Then the rest of the people can be grated H1 once we’ve given everyone here employment. I don’t but the BS about talent not being available. We can train and invest in people. I felt the system was very bad and resulted in people just coming here, getting married and having kids so they could become US citizens. The Indian and Chinese population benefited from this immensely. The quality of the people coming in was substandard and often were hired but other people had interviewed for them. The reality is people were gaming the system big time. I am not racist and do understand people’s position but I am a relish. Trump is right on this one.
Without H1s, they just move the work offshore. Not saying there's zero effect but they still find a way
Shut it with your anti immigration rhetoric. Really good American-born talents exist but there aren’t enough of them. Takes too long to improve the training and talent pipeline. Plus, did you read the WSJ article recently that our high school grads have the worst STEM readiness in decades? If Americans want to major in ethnic studies, we gotta fill the gap somewhere.
They will just move on to other countries ex - Canada and some European countries it even their own countries . The companies will follow them. Trump or Republicans will then try to tax the companies that move their work offshore.
Don't think so. Big Companies already have offices in India but still hiring here. Why?

I think it's a good move but honestly, those ICC will find another loophole to exploit. They have been doing this for decades without shame and will continue to do so.
Because it’s still profitable to. I am not saying all our companies will move outside the US but a significant portion of the dev work will , maybe.
Good move. Should have made it BEFORE China took over as the world’s only real superpower. Indians would be better in India when the dollar decline hits.
China didn't have to take it. Obama gave it to them
Democrats oppose *any* immigration reform. They don’t give a shit about legal immigrants. Sanctuary cities, deportation protection for illegals, free health care for illegals paid by us all are the top of their priority list. We’re not valuable because we can’t vote. Also, income wise we’re making “too much”, are in their sick view partly to blame for the “income inequality” and should be robbed blind with new taxes to pay for the homeless druggies that shit in front of our houses.
No shit man. I wonder what happen if I cross the border illegally and enter mexico

I have been hearing about H1b change, merit based immigration, wall since Trump came to power for about 2 yrs now. But nothing has changed transcendently.
With premium processing gone, hiring a h1b person has become really tough. H4 work permits are almost about to go away. H1 RFEs and declines have increased multi-fold. As a hiring manager, i have really struggled with hiring over the past 3 months.
Only someone who has no concept of the current hiring climate will think Trump has changed nothing. The Trump administration have tightened the noose around every rope possible without going to Congress. The H1b situation is getting more dire and hiring people is simply getting harder. This is all thanks to Trump. Call him what you will. He is delivering on his promises and leaving some destruction in his wake.
