DoorDash NYC Office
How’s the DoorDash NYC office? I can’t find much information online. Levels says free lunch and dinner 5 days a week, but I’m thinking that might just be for the west coast HQ? Are there any other nice benefits? Current TC: 165k YOE: 3
Original nyc office lease was let go at the beginning of Covid (and would have been way to small regardless) We have a temp 2 floors downtown at wework at the moment (with some drinks , snacks and other goodies) that one can go to if they choose. Long term there will big a bigger permanent office. About lunch - we now have a 15$ credit daily on DD to pick up or order food to the office - when at the office only. Nyc office def got cool vibes (even within a wework) however it is a bit noisy / cramped sometimes - so lots of people still wfh all the time (we are still in wfh phase). I drop in once in a while just to say hi and few meetings here and there.
Thanks for the info! I was told DD is looking at a hybrid model in the near future, but from what you’re saying it sounds more like they’ll have to get a new office first. Are SWEa also coming into the office? Do people get lunch or drinks or something together? I was thinking it would be fun to meet some people in person if I join rather than just being fully remote.
We will need a new office before anybody can go hybrid. Current office size is small compared to the amount of people in nyc. Hybrid near future ? Feels more like maybe in the tail end of 2022 realistically. Nothing is really upcoming fast. Sdes are coming here and there and there are a few groups of those living close to the office. But I would say most of the people coming are prob s&o You’ll always find some sde group at the office to grab lunch with. I always find (either from my org or others). Like mentioned - people are friendly.
