It had been a while (more than a year) since I last ordered through DoorDash. When I went to place an order just now, the item cost was $15. Default tip option was $4.5 (30%) and the lowest non-custom option was $3.5 (~23%). As far as I can remember, the default options used to be much lower! What changed? Or am I trippin and it always used to be this high? Maybe I just never bothered to check what the % was. How much do you guys tip when you order delivery through DoorDash? #delivery
I mean tipping less than $5 for food delivery is lol
So do you tip a flat amount regardless of order size, restaurant distance, and delivery fees charged?
No idea. Never used door dash. But I tip the pizza guy a minimum of $5
DoorDash is evil. Go get your food
Evil how?
Interesting that the restaurants we work with arenât pulling the plug, adopting our products faster than ever, and are seeing amazing revenue growth on our platformâ with some STILL doing takeout-only in the aftermath of the pandemic. Weâre sooo evil!
Drive and pick it up.
Thatâs what I prefer to do but Iâm sick right now.
Feel better
Wow that many people tip 0? Must take longer to find a driver?
How so?
Doesn't the driver see that they'll get less money for taking the order?
I usually tip around 15% but a minimum of 4 dollars for small order sizes.
Minimum of $4 on small orders is a lot. Doesnât DoorDash pay them adequately?
I want my order fast. Higher tip means my order is usually there within 20 min.
Holy fuck there are some stingy fucks on blind. I always tip 25%.
Forreal lmao. All these rich ass mf's that won't even give a delivery guy a couple bucks. It's really sad actually
Doordash. Last I went to my favorite restaurant they companies about unfair pricing by doordash. Moreover discount given to customer also passed on to the merchant.
Doordash driver will be see the total pay they will get when they are presented an order. The pay equals to doordash base pay + customer tip. Based on the distance, they can roughly tell how much doordash pay is, and they tend to reject offers with low or non-existent customer tip. If a dasher rejects the offer, it will go to the next dasher. It will go on until someone is willing to do the delivery for the distance/pay amount listed. Meanwhile, your food is sitting cold in the restaurant. So, either get the food yourself at the restaurant, or tip really well to get fresh food.
Doordash steals the tips đ
Wasnât this debunked like a year back?
Not true buddy. Nice try Uber!
Iâd never use doordash type delivery services. Theyâre evil. Hurts everybody: your local restaurant, pays less than minimum wage to drivers, forces you to perpetuate tipping practices. Donât use doordash. Or uber. Or whatever the next one is. Take a walk, pick up your own food. Or use restaurants that do their own delivery. Or cook.
Funny how restaurants arenât getting hurt and might want to look into how many of your âlocalâ favorites arenât local at all
