Got an offer today from Doordash for an E4 role. TC is 210k in Sunnyvale. I told the recruiter that this was laughable as I was making 190k in Austin for a laid back company, with no state income tax and a pretty affordable city. Is it just DD or is the market really tanking? #doordash
is H E B 190 base?
No TC for a senior level role. Staff roles get ~200k base
How much is base and I think rest is bonus?
You sure the role isn't fully remote, and will require relocation to bay area?
Yup they said they wanted me to relocate.
@OP tell them to buzz off
Probably because grocery stores have been making money instead of burning it for “growth”
Y’all dumb as fuck. Grocery stores have razor thin margins.
I'm not in tech, and I lurk around here just to see the funny things, and I can say that is a LOWBALL
Cringe
No need to laugh, be polite and pass the offer if that is not what you want
If the expectation was not set right by the recruiter, is fair to call out. I had some recruiters avoiding giving numbers before interviews, talking about competitive offers, just to pass the loop and get a lowball offer. Waste of everybody’s time.
I agree that the recruiter should reveal the minimum TC or range for level they want to recruit for. Otherwise it's a waste of energy, money and time for the interviwee
Value of swe closer to food delivery guy now. Good news is they are under same company?
Finally some justice
Any chance I can get a referral to HEB? I’d love to move back to Texas and work for a chill company. I know everyone here thinks Albertsons is special, but HEB is really the GOAT.
Seriously if they are offering 200k for staff that’s competitive
It's a lowball lol, and ask DD recruiter to lick your balls,
Are DD recruiters known to be hot?
Tell them nicely, positively and politely that you appreciate their offer, but it doesn't meet your expectations. Tell them your expectations. If they can't meet them, or they don't come close so that you can accept, politely decline and move on Edit: apparently, you already told the recruiter it's laughable. Then you are done for now
Nicely, positively and politely.... I appreciate that you want me to look like a clown but I respectfully say I don't want this offer and request you to look like a clown now.
Market might not be great, but that looks lowball af
