Screw it. Don't care anymore. Let Israel take it. One state solution.
Just saw this on Twitter, it seems like their lawyer also deleted their LinkedIn and privated Twitter account (probably getting horrible threats if I had to guess - not okay to do). That said it seems like Dropbox has some pretty racist hiring practices. Has anyone who currently works there experienced racism in the professional work environment? This seems to be the way tech is moving forward with their hiring practices, what is everyone's thoughts on this? Is this acceptable in the current climate? https://twitter.com/libsoftiktok/status/1524080238333898752
Managers and executives are evaluated on meeting ESG diversity goals. The higher a company's ESG rating the more favorably it is treated for financing by BlackRock, Vanguard, and State Street.
Equity and inclusion are great. This isnāt that. At best, itās poorly phrased and being misinterpreted and at worst it undermines the goals of inclusion.
You do realize this is exactly what equity is, right? š
Exactly. Equity is not equality. Equality in hiring is giving everyone the same opportunity, regardless of sex, race, etc. Equity in hiring is structuring your hiring to end up with proportional representation from each of the aforementioned groups. Equality promotes merit. Equity promotes identity.
Just reading this makes me livid! I hope you escalated this to their employer? Some people just arenāt cut out to be recruiters. The sooner they know that, the better it is for them.
This 100% didn't happen, stop making shit up Meta Edit: this was about another Meta dude who deleted his comments, not uroub
When it comes to this topic I feel like Amazon really follows through with ātrue equalityā. They roll with the full metal jacket āHere youāre all equally worthlessā and I will PIP you approach and for that I truly believe they deserve the šās best employer tag š«”
Oh the DIE cult again. Itās all virtue signaling at the end of the day. Its super cringe when snow white folks self flagellate on a public platform to placate their savior complex. The problem is not that tech is full of racists but rather the fact that the high school graduation rate and CS majors for Bipocs is abysmally low compared to other ethnicities. Fix that problem and you dont need DIE programs in corporations
Well articulated. The diversity of tech roles should match the makeup of the talent pipeline. That results in equal opportunity for those who study a tech major.
Antiwhite company
This is not racist, but it is "White Liberal Performative Art" (and I'm a bleeding liberal myself). Basically this person has taken it upon themselves to be a white savior and doesn't understand the complexities of systemic racism and what these American minority communities are trying to do. Diversity is very important for a healthy company. But it should start with "why does our company look the way it does" and not "We only hire minorities now because white people bad"
Bruh, you just assumed she was Jewish and then made a sweeping negative generalization about Jewish people. Get this shit outta here...
This is ridiculous! Sheās doing a huge disservice to her organizationās reputation and itās concerning how no one from Dropbox has put a halt to it yet. Iām POC as well, and Iāll never waver from the fact that people should be hired for merit; and nothing else! The point of diversity hiring initiatives is to ensure that the candidate pipeline is diverse, not to give preferential treatment to someone during the hiring process. Focus on DEI is required, because recruiters end up ignoring candidates from certain communities on the basis of their inherent biases. Silly as it sounds, Iāve seen cases of recruiters not contacting candidates because their names are āunpronounceableā for them. However, posts like these are going to impact diverse candidates negatively. Imagine getting hired in an organization on the basis of your competence, and people like her taking credit for that. She desperately needs a refresher on what DEI is.
Every company does this, sheās probably the only one to put it out in public
Nope
