Dropbox already built, and battle tested the architecture, feature and software stack. Now it can definitely sustain with little maintenance, hence now what is the need of recruiting so many SWE now? You guys must be getting a lot of free time? They aren't the core features right? And mostly not urgent.
Dropbox has 2,323 employees!! What you guys are doing with such high number of employees?
Gotta work on paper.
Even that they have acquired, not built from scratch

So you think storage, search, collaborative editing, smart workplace shit are all too easy for you?
I mean all that work is already done, things are now smooth and bug free, now what? Do the builders stay in the building after building is finished?

The fact that google is well built doesn’t mean all the google engineers are just maintaining the product and doing nothing. Similar with any company!
Google has so many features and research work updated on almost daily basis.
Same with Dropbox as well. We have lots of features and backlog which we are actively working on.
