Hey Blind fam! Got an offer from Dropbox for an IC4 MLE position in the org that works on Dash. Base $245, 20% bonus, $800k equity. What do you think about this offer? How is Dropbox company culture and wlb these days, and how is it specifically for the dash org? I’ve heard good things many years ago, but that also company has changed dramaticallyin the past few years. How is the performace review process, and what is their URA percentage? What do you think about managers in Dropbox? How good are the tools for development in Dropbox? Current TC: 345k

The offer is definitely on the very high end for IC4 which is a senior2 level. Company culture and wlb has degraded a lot, there are explicit messages that there'll be pips to manage out low performaners, morale is the lowest I've seen in my years. On the other hand, leadership has huge hopes for dash to turn the sinking ship. Ppl from dash team has a lot of time pressure to move quick and deliver, nothing wrong with that but up to you if you want to be part of that. The good things you heard about dropbox years ago are no longer true, just to give you an idea of the chain of events that happened recently: 1 revenue growth slowing dramatically, May layoff 2 messages to start pips 3 cut monthly PTOs, cut quarterly VF perks, cut parental leave That being said, it's a great offer, if you deliver, they will reward high performaner since dash is considered critical project for fate of dropbox

You don't want to come to Dropbox. Benefit cuts, layoffs, everyone is burned out. Internal survey just said over 40% are planning on leaving within the next year. Development tools are the worst I've ever seen.
