I don’t know where people are claiming the senior title from. It’s all SWE until you hit L5, then you are Staff SWE (then there are titles inside of that, like “principal” etc)
Principal is IC6, and Sr Principal is IC7. Both are actual titles at Dropbox.
Senior's not a title at DBX, people just put it on their LinkedIn to make it more impressive (don't blame them)
Senior is generally IC3 and people tend to put “Tech Lead” if IC4+
Levels across companies are staggered. Dropbox l3 spans across a google senior. L4 would span across high senior at Google or a low staff...
There’s no such title as senior software engineer at Dropbox. You’re either just swe or staff swe If someone claims he is senior, then it can be anything as it’s a made up title
