Dropbox vs Facebook

I have got offers from both these companies (Seattle). Base/Equity/JoiningBonus/Target bonus percentage : Dropbox : 210k/600k/15k/20 (IC4) Facebook : 185k/600k/100k/15 (E5) What do you think is better? FB is giving cash upfront, but with higher target bonus and higher base, Dropbox is winning in the long run (4 years). FB has wider work options and more stability, but Dropbox may have higher growth potential.

Dropbox IC 4 = FB E6. Much higher scope of work. Seattle office is very senior and has a very strong site lead. More opportunities to grow faster

Oracle OCI💭 Oct 2, 2018

FB is evil and look at their bad PR lately you really want to go there? Go with DB.

Microsoft vplc07 Oct 2, 2018

If you dont need the money soon then take DB. Also to consider is refreshers. Also I don't like fb stock as much

Microsoft msfts Oct 2, 2018

What is the vesting schedule for stock/cash?

Microsoft uxlM80 OP Oct 2, 2018

4 years

Facebook Dungeness Oct 2, 2018

FB has big problems these days, but DB has big rivals. TBH, I’m not sure how they are surviving with big players like g, msft, or Amazon. MSFT is killing it these days with enterprise packages so don’t count too much on DB for the next 4 years..

Microsoft DOyu71 Oct 2, 2018

I have some good friends that work at DB that wanted me to interview. This is exactly why I wont. I dont understand why they continue to exist.

Unrelated. But are you on H1B?. If yes, did you get to discuss the visa transfer process timelines with the respective companies?

Microsoft uxlM80 OP Oct 2, 2018

Yes, on H1B. I haven't yet discussed the transfer process timeline, but they are aware of it that I am on H1B.
