I’m a former microsoft employee (left a few years ago), and I am planning a vacation but the car rentals are quite pricey due to the shortage. I will be unemployed during my vacation :). I know microsoft has an internal discount system for their employees to get good car rental prices on personal vacations (e.g. 4x cheaper in hawaii). Is it similar to the discounts offered on prime? I am considering paying for the microsoft alumni network ($99/year) to get access to the same passport prime discounts. I was wondering, could someone at microsoft check prime for me and see if their car rental discounts are similar? (E.g. Hertz car rentals) TC: 250-300k at my next job #microsoft #microsoftbenefits #microsoftbenefits #travel
Thank you so much!
Always sign up for employee discount programs while at the company. Most of the time they don't check if you're still an active employee later.
To access Microsoft Passport you need to SSO with corporate credentials. It’s unlikely an ex-employee would have access as MSFT will terminate benefits at 11:59pm on the last day before leaving
Costco members have one of the best discounts through Costco travel. Also, you should be able to beat Prime discount in rental cars by just googling for coupons.
I’ve found Priceline is often better than Passport
8 years at MSFT and I’ve never used prime
You work at Toyota and they can't hook you up with car rental discounts?
I also no longer work at Toyota. (Left for my next job. Trying to travel between jobs :). ) This is just my most recent blind tag.
