They captured a narrow segment for a few years but can't appeal to a larger market. Other manufacturers have already caught up and will be making Tesla obsolete quite soon.
According to shipment stats, no other manufacturers have caught up. Who are you talking about?
The big players are just starting to get into the game for real. F150 EV is going to be a huge seller now that it launched.
Ehm, no. Every tech bro loves their Tesla (but hates they cannot be loud about it anymore due to the Twitter/Musk situation).
It doesn't help that Tesla has a shit build quality
There are only so many tech bros
This is cyclical with any company or the business. You either innovate on product or cost otherwise get ready to be obsolete. Tesla is in correction mode and not in the downfall as they still have significant demand for the product.
There is so much EV competition coming in the near future and Tesla struggles to launch new models. Itâs already dead and Musk doesnât realize it yet.
Thatâs an insult to Blackberry, theyâre still innovating (and hey, much love to the Tesla engineers themselves, so sorry your boss constantly takes credit for your work he can probably barely use let alone understand the theory of!). Oh yeah Elonâs fake Physics and Stanford degrees too đ I think Elon might make off as the greatest robber-baron of our time, his literal ONLY value add to humanity was the small work he did at paypal. Also, Tesla loans against twitter purchase are inching to margin. If that happened, Elon could lose 80b overnight as his liquidations flash crash market. Ironically his buying of twitter might be what spelled Teslaâs doom. I really loved the two I had and thought the engineering was exceptional (on software side). Hope those people go somewhere that treats them better.
Look I'm all for a "musk bad" to start the day, but we can't imagine up a world where Tesla is not selling better than the vast majority (all?) of similarly priced EV's. You need a dose of reality with your hatred for the man.
This is like saying Apple is in trouble because there are more phone makers competing with it. Apple is not just a popular phone, but a status symbol. Most people aren't buying EVs for the gas savings, they are buying it for the status, and what's the highest status EV? Tesla
Except that Tesla looks more like Apple in the 90s when Jobs was gone and the computing market was completely taken over by competitors than it does the Apple of the 00s. Poorly built Teslas aren't going to look like status symbols next to Mercedes and Porsche vehicles that outperform them..
One word: Branding Imagine there are 2 shoes. One is comfortable, good material, last a long time, but little to no brand recognition The other is Nike. It doesn't have those features but has a big brand and status. Who do you think sells more and at MUCH higher prices? Nike shoes are so popular, people pay hundreds of dollars and will never wear them to avoid tainting them. Well to do people buy status, not functionality Teslas are status symbols, people don't care about build quality or even EVs (Those that do already have the Prius)
Big players are not in EV yet as they have 10x teslas volume. There isn't just enough resources to produce all the batteries. So E. G Toyota comes up with upgraded hybrids next year
Waiting on the 2024 Audi A6 Etron to come out. As a 2018 Tesla Model 3 Owner, the current product is almost exactly the same with no major improvements or differentiation. Elon's antics are just the cherry on top to move on.
Blackberry has QNX
