Does JPMorgan Chase do bonus recoupment?

Considering an offer for a SWE role at JPMorgan Chase. Offer letter says sign on bonus can be recouped if you quit within a year. Any ex-JPMC employees who have gone through this? Doesn’t mention if it’s prorated or if they even go through with the recoupment.

I haven’t worked at JP Morgan but I’ve worked at other Fortune 100 banks that do this. Generally, the answer is “it depends” but it’s always been at manger discretion in my experience. If you leave for a great job that your boss has helped coach you on, usually not. If you leave and they’re mad about it, then yes. A year is not long so just plan to stick it out if the bonus is worth it.

Unless you’re bonus payout is 1M, no one gives damn about pennies

You don't get the IC bonus until bonus payout in February, if you leave before then or submit resignation in January you won't get it.

Jp usually doesn't do sign on... But if they giving cause your recouping stock grant from prior then I can see. Hands down your will have to repay with my experience from jp. And most companies will be the same
