What notice do you give when leaving job?
Background: ~2 years as a software developer, <1 yr as ML Engineer post Masters. I have two offers - Data Scientist at EA Vancouver, and Senior Engineer at Qualcomm Markham. Base pay for both is the same. EA is offering an annual bonus and more in terms of RSUs, so they have a slight edge there. The job at EA is more in line with my specialization. The team works towards building ML pipelines for content generation tools, including graphics and audio. The job at Qualcomm is about developing their AI SW stack to optimize neural networks for Qualcomm hardware and other AI engines. I am leaning more towards EA because of all of the above. I was recently advised to work towards getting more experience with deployment and working on an ML pipeline end to end. While the work at EA seems to fit the bill, I am worried that my perspective may be skewed because of higher compensation. On the other hand, the Qualcomm role is oriented towards software development, and there is little scope for working on anything beyond the SW stack. I will be working to deploy fully trained models, and I will have no hand in the training aspect. Any advice is appreciated! Would EA be a good choice in the long term? Current TC: 80k CAD EDIT: Details about offers: EA - 120k CAD base + target 15% annual bonus (18k as of this year) + 75k USD RSUs over 3 years Qualcomm - 120k CAD base + 15-20k CAD one time cash bonus + 60k USD RSUs over 3 years #ea #qualcomm #datascientist #machinelearningengineer #engineer
Can you provide details of both the offers ?
