Folks from India, China who experience huge delays for green card, have you already invested or thought of investing? Is it something to think about once you reach that financial position, thoughts on feasibility, anyone got a green card through EB5? TC: 275k #personalfinance #investments #greencard #eb5
now limit is 1 million ..that’s a lot of money
China it's not a bad wait
If thats your goal and you can invest, why not. There is an opportunity cost, but you know best. The limit has changed. seems the prog has also ended ? A classmate of mine got his quite recently. Seems happy.
Limit will soon be back to 900k, the program is halted but expected to be back up in sept.
China EB5 wait is longer than EB2/3. When you are rich enough to throw away $1M, you don’t need or want that green card anymore due to taxes.
I don't think china has it as bad as indians. Chinese wait is barely 3-4 years
Really? Even today?
Pretty much so. Don't take my word for it, check out the visa bulletin
Don't put China and India in the same sentence when it comes to gc.. China is like a 5 or 6 year wait. India is never ending
Now is the best time to invest if you have the money , the direct investment is down to 500k , there are projects out there that are accepting applications (the mai kai restaurant in fort lauderdale comes to mind). I am working towards the capital and will be applying in 2023, fingers crossed
500k limit might not last until 2023 though? And currently only direct investments program is on. Would Mai Kai qualify?
Oh yeah definitely it can bump back to 900 or whatever arbitrary number senate or uscis decides, i meant right now. My plan is to have at least 900 by 2023. But for folks who can get the 500k funds , now is the best time
