Expedia 2018 revenue ~ 11B market cap ~ 18B Uber 2018 revenue ~ 11B market cap ~ 120B Anyone can explain why? @uber
Expedia also brought 900 million in profits... While Uber lost 1.8 billion. Time for Expedia to do self driving aircra... Oh wait!
Uber is going down eventually
It’s 90B now from filing papers
Interesting is there a link to this somewhere?
Xkcd1 is bs. No one (other than a few insiders) knows that right now.
?? What's there to explain??? Valuation is not just based on current revenue or profits. It's about future potential of the company.
Understand but isn’t Uber’s growth slowed down to 2% in the last quarter?
You are still talking about either present or past. Valuation is about what investors perceive to be future of the company with the knowledge of present and past.
My first concern was uber trying so hard to get money off things like bike sharing before going IPO. Does that mean its two big guns ,(ride sharing and eats) aren't making enough money?
Uber doesn't have a market cap...it's not public and therefore not valued by the market. If it did though it will likely still be larger as the marker potential and growth rate is higher. Market cap is the markets value of anticipated future value. It is rarely tied at all to book value.
80% of our cost is sales and marketing...we can generate profit on demand if and when we need to by culling the sales and marking forces.... what I am curious about Uber and Lyft is what will profits look like if you cut non-essential staff...I think that will make or break these IPOs
Wow you work at salesforce and still don't understand the B2B sales circle. Try cutting sales and reporr back in a quarter.
Different industries, wildly different TAM, user growth, engagement, and so on and so on
Wow
