Good day all, I am in a similar position as a another poster I saw on here and would like to ask for opinions/advice. I accepted a position EY a few months ago as an analyst making 63k 3k signing bonus, but believe I was severely short changed myself. When I accepted the position it was a slight bump up in salary, which wasn't alot but I was looking more at the opportunity to advance. But recently I overhead some coworkers discussing MBA grads coming in as Seniors. So my questions are: Does my experience qualifications line up with my compensation? How would go about discussing raise and in what range? Location: San Antonio TX Experience: 9 yrs with Master's. Title: Data Analyst #dataanalytics #datascience #data #ey #salary #salarycomparison #negotiation #offer
get out now dude lol
63k is too low for 9 yoe, may be you can try get some other offers on top of this.
You should be coming in at the manager level which would be anywhere from $140-180k, if you have 9 years of experience. What is your masters in? Also with 9 years of experience did you apply to an analyst level position or did they level you down to that? Mainly, how did the idea to apply to the position begin? They reached out to you or you directly applied for the position?
My Master's Degree is in Information Systems. I feel like it is my fault a bit. The recruiter reached out to me. She alluded to possibly submitting for senior analyst but I wasn't sure my experience was enough to qualify since I come from a programming background vs specifically analytics. But after I breezed thru the technical interview I started to regret shooting for the senior.
I mean it just seems like an unfortunate situation. You are overqualified but no company is going to force you to take a position title, at a higher level with higher pay, if you don’t ask for it. Maybe you could reach out to your manager and explain the situation
Friend at EY is an entry level analyst, straight out of undergrad, getting more than you.
Thanks for the insight. What is your friend's job duties? Location?
Tier 2/3 city , consulting type but not strategy
Bruh … I was making more six years ago as a fresh grad in it audit … you getting screwed big time
My fresh outta undergrad offer at Deloitte nearly 20yrs ago was 57K w/10K signing.
I literally don't know, were you working for any company before you got offer from EY? If yes were you making less that 63k ? If yes, how you survived for 9 years with programming background?
I am not sure why did you accept the offer in the first place, the comp seems way too low based on your experience. You should be Manager or Senior 3 level with 150K comp at the very least.
Get a better job elsewhere. 60k for your experience is shit.
