could you please comment on the roles and respondibilities for Manager vs. Sr Manager at Ernst & Young? and the TC?
I can't speak for EY specifically but for management consulting in general, a Sr. Mgr should be able to run a med-large client engagement on their own with only occasional Principal/Dir/Partner oversight. Leading and hiring teams of 10-20. A manager needs to be able to lead a small-med project within a program, say 5-10 people.
Thanks for the info!
You know how every one who complains that they are underpaid are told to think about the fact you make more than the average household in America? Well don't listen to them. You are actually underpaid. If you let people make you settle for less than $250k then you lower the salary for all accountants and consultants by willing to accept lower pay. Always ask for more money. In NYC San Fran etc 75k-200k is an insult.
Its driven by job demand and will vary over time. A large % of TC is bonus or stock driven currently. Mgmt consulting is still old school with 20-30% bonus if you are lucky. So, outside mgmt consulting is a much better option right now.
Manager 120k base NYC, 150k senior manager NYC.
Thanks. What does the sr manager do compares to manager? How long does it take for a promotion from mgr to sr mgr?
See my answer below and promo time, 3-5 yrs but also business dev active targets kick in at Sr. Mgr so need demonstrated experience and results there.
