New job has stand ups 7:30am (part of team is in India, I’m based out of west coast). Is this normal? Or similar for other people?
Omg... i will start looking for a new one asap
Well the stand up is a useless meeting anyway cause nobody listens and nobody cares. Does your boss even listen to what you say or does he just say "OK, next" and then when you don't go does he get mad? If so, congratulations, you have a micromanager
Why not just do async standups on slack/teams? Makes no sense to make people give updates outside of regular working hours.
Is the standup needed?
7am and 8am meetings are very common at my job. I have at least one of those each day and often both time slots with meetings.
Not common with good work culture companies and pretty common with consulting and micro managing companies
I used to have stand ups at 7:00 am and it was fucking awful
No way am I showing up to such a shitshow.
Who still does standups every day… that’s so outdated
What’s the new “methodology”? Are short Sprints and stand ups no longer in fashion?
Most teams I work with have moved away from daily meetings in the last few years and are now meeting maybe twice a week or so. I don’t know many people who are still meeting daily
It’s normal if you have to co ordinate with India. It’s 8 pm for them. Isn’t convenient for them either . But it’s more convenient than 10 pm
