Question about women in their 30’s?
How likely is to have easier interview process in big company (Google, Amazon, Facebook, Microsoft..) after getting recommendations from employees there? How much recommendation help in fact? Is it possible to get hired just because one got recommended? How does it work for regular vs senior/management position? Don't hate.. Im just curious.
FB employee referral ensures your resume and info are reviewed, but no promises after that.
Yeah Facebook has awesome referral policy !
My impression is that a referral lets you skip the part where a human or algorithm in recruiting scans your resume for keywords and decides whether to let you progress. In the end you still have to make just as much of an impression on your interviewers.
Yeah, it definitely helps you get a screen. (Though at FANG even that isn't a guarantee). It doesn't really matter beyond that.
If referred by hiring manager then you have a significantly better chance
I got to skip Google's phone interview thanks to references
I skipped it without references, but didn't get hired. The wanted a strong coder and I could only provide greatness 😀
I interned at Google (got return offer) + had referral for full-time and wasn't able to skip. Pretty ridiculous, and decided not to interview.
