Job hopper?

Job 1: 1y 1m (lay off due to covid) Job 2: 2 years (left for job 3) Job 3: 1y 3m ongoing. I am planning to change teams within my company at around the 1.5 year mark. Given my history of short tenures/hops is this a problem? Even for internal mobility? YOE 4 YOE 265k

Doesn't matter. Only managers at low TC companies care about job hopping because they know there's nothing keeping you down except some false sense of honor about not being labeled a "job hopper".

Even contiguous employment doesn't tell you much. There are people at big companies who change teams after every promo. On their resume it looks like they're at the same job for 10 years but really they moved around 4-5 times in that time period. I consider a long tenure at a company (8+ years) to be an even bigger red flag - why did you wake up after so many years if you didn't think it was a good fit? did your career stall? were you unable to handle responsibility after a promo (Peter Principle)? This is only not a red flag if the company had a transformation during their tenure like Twitter, or the person had a meteoric rise and didn't want to break the velocity.

I second this. I was laid off in December and only shit companies asked why did I resign my previous jobs

no lol, anyone who complains about job hopping is probably a shitty manager. Only exception is if you have like 3 6 month stints in a row. I think a year-15 months is plenty

1 year is plenty of time to ship a project

Short tenure is 1 month

Job hopper, less than three years, you are quitting before it gets tough. Not having demonstrated ability to move within a company etc. once: ok, more than once: you are out - and I have hired ~2000 people in 15 countries during my career

First time seeing the company name SolarEdge

I'm not working with the purpose of "staying till it gets tough" I'm working to pay my bills and support my family. Statistically, you make way more by job hopping every few years. No company will ever give me a 100k raise but my last move increased TC by 100k

I'm a legit job hopper and I've only had a few people at no name low TC startups ever me too. I'm not loyal, I'll leave in a heartbeat for more TC

At 4 YOE it’s fine. As a seasoned HM, I can tell you that early in your career, most HMs will not flag this. When you get to 8 or so YOE, that’s when people looks for stability in their roles and that’s what will get flagged with HMs asking themselves “is this guy even gonna stay an year or move on” because for Sr roles it takes time to stabilize. Just my 2 cents.
