I'm so excited to see Elon fail in a spectacular manner.
Everyone wants him to fail because if he succeeds it’s gonna make every one else look bad. If you can cut 75% of the company and still be successful then it shows how massively bloated other tech companies are. That said I do think Twitter was particularly bloated given their revenue and their product.
If he succeeds, it'll be a testament of how well built twitter core systems were. If he fails, Twitter spent billions on a house of cards with shitty engineers.
I think he probably is right because twitter was rest and vest so they probably were only getting about 25% output out of employees.
"Nobody was offered more money" lol. All well and good if he "knows how to win" but if I'm deemed a critical engineer that's going to help him with his glorious victory I'd want some stock grants to back up that confidence
I wanna see him fail out of principle. He's fucked up a lot of people's livelihoods and job security for a new toy. Let's not set a precedent for billionaires to do whatever the fuck they want because they have money
