Elon was and remains right. Cuts are necessary. You can easily cut 80% of your staff with no major harm to the business as an ongoing concern. Twitter is humming along and has new features at a rate not seen in years. Which begs the question, wtf were people doing at Twitter before? I can guarantee that this is probably true for every major company, some more than others.

What’s twitter’s wau now vs two years ago? And revenue?
Elon scaring advertisers away has nothing to do with company efficiency. Point still stands. Twitter is still running and cranking out features. Tbh, Microsoft could take a page from Elon's book.
Active usage does which was the first part of the question.
Hmm it surely can't be because Twitter was already up and running and had people build it from the ground up long before Elon acquired it...
Just strengthens the point. Once the business reaches a steady state, you can cut the majority and milk the rest for decades. Twitter is out of its exponential growth mode for a decade and still has staff as if it was still 2012.
Maybe. It depends on the business. Not every business operates like that, stop looking at Twitter as a one-size-fits-all-template. Just because it's possible doesn't necessarily mean it should be done. There's a million different avenues one can take.
No he wasn’t, infact he’s barely been right about anything if at all
Idk man Tesla and SpaceX are pretty big things to be right about
SUP META im 6’6” too!
All true
The job market is bad and ppl are scared to loose jobs, and he is taking advantage of that. Every company has fat and he cut some big deal. But that percentage led to Making employees sleep in the office. Your arguments are not considering that. In a normal economy and job market, have him crank out new features? Employees will show him the finger and switch jobs. He is not right, he has just taken advantage of helpless ppl like you and me in a bad job market. What are you celebrating? He cut jobs because he wants to save his money. He is making pol crank features because he wants to make more of it for himself. It is just business for him. It is wrong on your part to belittle the efforts of hard working people that worked there by saying they did nothing. That is just disgusting. Have some empathy.
Hyper-competitive bootlickers with low empathy
You've never done anything big in your life and it shows. You need 110% dedication to succeed. Every successful company had the core group of believers who slept in the office surrounded by the fat that Elon rightfully cut. Look at it this way, the people sleeping in the office do it because they want to; because they believe in the vision. They probably have enough money to quit and accept a position as part of the fat elsewhere. Btw, this is true with all Elon companies.
It takes time to see the negative results. Yes the website still operates but if you get no new features, no security, crappy quality, etc you will eventually go downhill. The question is how much did you save vs the opportunity cost. Engineers in a tech company are quite cheap
Twitter probably saved single digit billions and lost 44 billion for sure!
Twitter will be 10x bigger. Elon is smarter than Zuckerberg.
Let's start by firing you

Nope, cuts aren’t necessary. Can you guarantee that they won’t hire in crazy number at all
Let’s see where it is same time next year… All it takes is one major security breach
"No major harm" how so?
You know, no lose of function, improved response time, feature launches, etc. Free speech…
The loss of content moderation, leading to the loss of advertisers, leading to the loss of over 50% the value of the company. "No harm"
