Email blocked when I contacted Apple recruiter for update after Onsite Interview

I started the interview process with Apple back in June. First was a phone screen, then it was silent for almost a month. I emailed the recruiter but no response, then they reached back saying to proceed to next rounds. Fast forward to last week, I finished their Virtual Onsite, this time it was coordinated by a different recruiter. Before the Onsite, I could exchanged email with that recruiter just fine. Now about a week after Onsite, I reached out to their email again for update, and I got a Delivery failure message from Gmail saying my email to their Apple email was blocked for security reason. Not sure what to make of this, does anyone encounter the same? Am I supposed to just wait for them to come back? #tech #apple #softwareengineering

It was a generic auto email from Gmail server Message blocked Your message to <recruiter_name>@apple.com has been blocked. See technical details below for more information. The response from the remote server was: xxx IP <some_IP_address> blocked for security reasons. And I got the same email when I sent to 3 different recruiters/coordinators that I worked with throughout my interviews

The email comes from this address mailer-daemon@googlemail.com

Sounds like the recruiter was fired and their email deactivated

I got the same email (sent by mailer-daemon@googlemail.com) when I sent to 3 different recruiters/coordinators that I worked with throughout my interviews. It looks like this: ----------------------------------- Message blocked Your message to <recruiter_name>@apple.com has been blocked. See technical details below for more information. The response from the remote server was: xxx IP <some_IP_address> blocked for security reasons.

Maybe the entire team of contractor recruiters got laid off? Reach the hiring manager instead?

That's the Apple's way of sending rejection. For bad interview performers, they disable their icloud account.

From another recruiter that was laid off, I got: The response was: The email account that you tried to reach does not exist. Please try double-checking the recipient's email address for typos or unnecessary spaces. Learn more at https://support.google.com/mail/answer/6596 On LinkedIn the person was looking for work. Have you checked LinkedIn? I usually go there. That said I went thru an on-site a couple years ago with Apple … I happened to have one of the hiring managers phones so I texted (after 4 weeks?) and then the HR person sent me a generic letter by email.

I don't have any contact info of the hiring manager. Perhaps i could search and reach out to them on LinkedIn but I'm not sure if that's recommended. As for the recruiters, I see they are Apple veterans (6-11 years), I dont think they are let go, based on their LinkedIn. I tried message them on LinkedIN but no response. I think last resort is to call them via phone, I have the phone numbers in their email signature.

It’s been a week since my final round with Apple and I am waiting to hear back. The manager gave me their email to reach directly to them if I had any questions. In prior coordination rounds I found Apple recruiters very unreliable (and even unprofessional) compared to other shops. But Apple a huge shop and this might have been an unfortunate case.

The same thing happened to me when I was on the internal network… tried to resend the email from my home network, went through without issue!
