Embedded software interview at Meta
I have an on-site interview at Meta for embedded Software role. Is it similar to general Software Engineering roles or is the interview a little different for embedded roles? How was phone screen ? LC style ? One easy and one medium ?
Phone interview was not that tough. They asked basic string manipulation.

Phone screen was LC style, one sort of easy and the other medium to hard It depends on how much practice you have and the interviewer
Yes it is I spoke to a hiring manager at Meta who acknowledged that a lot of folks in the embedded sw domain are not LC savvy but unfortunately at Meta he has no control over the hiring process and even for embedded sw roles, the hiring process is same as other swe roles
So expect LC styles programming questions and system design questions that have no relevance to embedded sw
On the other hand, google follows the same process, but if you’re interviewing for embedded sw roles then the LC style questions have a little bit of embedded related problems and the systems design question will test your OS/embedded domain knowledge
