Where did you hear about this? 👀
How does this work for employees with a visa?
it doesn't, usually (in the US) https://www.dol.gov/agencies/whd/fact-sheets/62j-h1b-worksite and for working from most other countries legally anyway you have to be a citizen (or have some kind of work permit) AND pay taxes locally which USUALLY requires employment by a local entity. even when company policy is permissive, this is a legal can of worms
“Other countries” doesn’t mean all countries. I promise you that
Yes Yahoo, I think cuba, Iran etc might not be allowed
🎯 etc etc
6weeks at chewy
many ppl I know at intel worked for more than 6 months outside USA and got paid USA salary (all this being on h1b , all thanks to intel immigration dept) but not sure if u can repeat the same stunt once every couple of years and then get a sabbatical every 4 years
What about Nvidia?
Intel’s official policy is 60 days
Does it apply h1b holders?
yes H1B visa rules are only applicable if in US. Once you step out of US, USCIS has nothing to do with that.
sure but then you lose it https://www.dol.gov/agencies/whd/fact-sheets/62j-h1b-worksite
Airbnb is 90 days per year per country :)
Legendary
They should make it unlimited if you stay in an Airbnb
Is Microsoft really 0 ? Any project which has recently allowed employees to work from other countries for a brief period?
Its zero only. No plans to change policy this year.
I thought under flexible work benefit you can work from any country as long as Microsoft has an office there and immigration of that country allows it?
