Mindset of folks in US: I am selfish, don’t vote for folks who better life of others… Wont vote for paternity leave, universal healthcare, or increasing minimum wage… Unless my ass is on fire, then I want to block everyone. The same reason you didn’t vote for benefit of others, is why no one cares about you… no one cares about your job Chad, coz they all selfish. Business hire the cheapest labor, sorry but its a free country and zero regulations (which you voted for btw) of worker protection, so… nothing will change

OP is talking about visas whereas you’re talking about hiring overseas which are two separate things. Also employers paying engineers six figures are by no means solely prioritizing cheap labor. It’s not unreasonable to say “citizens of the country the employer is hiring in should take priority over sponsoring a visa for an international transfer/hire”

I 110% agree, damn, US citizens should get priority obviously, am just stating the fact that US citizens are too selfish to make any changes that help community as a whole, ‘I got mine, f u’ is the working principle, unless it effects me, then the whole world needs to revolt. Corporations rule US, and they will always pick immigrants, if not for cheaper labor, they may pick them over citizens just to keep the citizens in line… ‘we can hire folks from arguably poorer nations or offshore if you ask for a raise or don’t keep up with stupid policies’… Sorry it sucks to be citizens, but you don’t vote based on that… I mean a senile old fool or an orange racist in a country as big as US, come on… Even Trump didn’t do shit coz his corporate overlords wouldn’t allow it, he just was blabbering a lot of shit, but nothing concrete.
