I am going to start process for Engineering Manager M1 at FB what should I expect as coding questions?
Medium LC for the most part. Possible to get an easy or hard one down the road
I didnt get coding on the phone screen. I got two LCs during onsite. One med and one hard
PS was mostly classic manager stuff (project deep dive, people management, motivation etc). I got the two questions within one interview
I'm going for M1 on-site soon as well. Can you share what the project management interview was covering?
You’ll likely be asked to talk about a current or important project, in depth. Why? How? How you ran it, what issues you faced and how you solved them, how you work with stakeholders and dependencies, how you make sure things move along, etc
Write a program to determine the rest and vest schedule with lowest space and time complexity.
Architect a distributed system to read user data from multiple sources and open source it.
One or two code medium/hard but the bar is a bit lower. One or two system design, bar is about the same as E6 SWE (high). At least two behavioral, which is super critical.
All M1s get two design questions
I’m M1, got one.
Screen will just be talking about your background, making sure you have enough experience to come in for an on-site. The on-site will have: 1 Coding interview: The bar is to show that you could once pass a FB coding interview. 2 Design interviews. You need to display design capabilities matching E6 expectations. 1 “Jedi” Behavioral interview. 1 Project Retrospective 1 People Management
Write a program to put employees arbitrarily on PIP
