How did you study for EM interviews with 6 YOE?
System Design, Coding, and Behavioral Questions. Less emphasis on Coding for managers though.
Is it okay to DM you?
How did you get them all to time their offers at the same time
Good question. It was very difficult… you have to plan ahead and schedule 1-2 months out to get everything back to back.
So basically you apply, do all the phone interviews, then schedule the final round interviews 2 months out? What if they say that is too far away and they want you to interview sooner so that they can fill the role sooner? I imagine most companies wouldn't want to wait 2 months
What are you optimizing for? WLB? New skills? Fast career path? TC? Longevity in career?
Career growth + TC
Facebook in that case, they’ll probably beat the compass offer. Else Compass. One Q on Compass: as Sr SDM will you manage managers? Or is it a Sr in title and comp only?
Out of 6 your have 3 years of management experience? Are you from Ivy Leagues?
No, wasn’t smart enough to get into Ivy. Did go to a top 20 U.S. computer science school though.
What is the compass vesting schedule? Sign on paid over how much time? This is for manager of managers?
Even vest over 4 years 25% a year. Sign on is paid over two year split evenly every month. Most do I believe, but I don’t get managers reporting to me right away. I will have to grow into it.
So you got an up level w that one. Pretty nuts you must have really impressed them. Over 500k TC
Amazing results! 1. FB 2. Compass
This is insane for 6 years experience.. congratulations!!
Thank you! 🙏🙏🙏
Given that you are most likely not going to consider the Peloton offer, can I DM you for more details on the Peloton offer
Seriously!!!! Maybe you are a "privileged" white male from a grad school like Stanford. 3 years of management experience out of 6 years of total experience. Hopefully none of it is fake.
None of it is fake… I’m non white male from top 20 engineering school. Studying well for interviews and creating a successful startup from ground up helped me in my case.
Dropbox, judgemental as fuck 😂
What was the Apple interview/role
Haven’t done that one yet. It’s for Apple cloud services division. Role is engineering manager.
Nice I’m going in for a infrastructure mgr role out of Austin but those r some good numbers
