Why doesn't OpenAI offshore and reduce expense by 80%
Woahh, wtf kind of article is this... Blame the foreigners, no matter what??? How convenient!
Read the article. They’re legitimate concerns.
What concerns? It was Boeing’s spec.
Does Boeing still think the cost "savings" was worth it?
It didn't hurt sales or their long term reputation?
Important question is - Should we blame Indian SWE or too much greed of Boeing? 100% Boeing fault and they should take full responsibility rather than trying to find scapegoats.
Definitely Boeing, but I didn’t get the impression that the article was blaming the contractors. The contractors were out of their depth for sure, but read the last two paragraphs. You’ll see what I mean - Boeing management blamed engineering, but the article called management out on it.
Boeing and all companies they outsource are required to be held accountable. Boeing to not testing enough what was developed and not spending enough on R&D. Outsourcing firms responsible for substandard delivery and not charging enough to pay good engineer. There are millions of Indian SWE who have built cutting edge technology. Boeing has larger responsibility to do through testing, training engineers and set higher standards.
I’ve found for our overseas partners - much like any SWE group - that you need good requirements, test cases and code review. Boeing just sitting on their ass and accepting shit code is their own fault.
Despite Boeing having offices in india why go to hcl?
American way of saying not my fault.
Preparing the ground through media articles before making contractors a scapegoat.
Boeing baiting everybody. THIS IS NOT A SOFTWARE PROBLEM. This is a design flaw. Companies at times buy the service or product from others just to shift accountability in case things go south. It's a type of explosive armour.
$9/hr is a good price for Indian SWE. May be $30/40 is their Google brains. You're not solving Dijkstra, if else cases maybe.
This isn't an wordpress website. Stuff that goes in here is responsible for the 2 crashes that happened. Even per Indian standards, it's depressing. Indian companies are not able to invest in research due to such low standards. And sweatshops like HCL, Infosys, Wipro, TCS alongwith Accenture, HP, IBM are low in quality.
What makes you think solving Dijkstra is hard?
