Evaluate Waymo offer
Base 220k 400k WMU over 4 years L5 YOE 8 I'm transferring from Google so maybe numbers are a little different, but under the new policy I don't get to keep my unvested GSUs so I don't know how different it is. Does anyone have offers for comparison (either external hires or transfers)? Is this a lowball?
This looks like a good offer to me. Especially the equity.
Did they take invested GSUs into account? I assume you’re making more annually now in terms of equity?
I did my G -> waymo transfer earlier (offer made right before Xmas) and my data point is 186k base + 175k equity. I was able to keep my unvested GSU. I'm l5 with PhD + 4yr.
Waymo has a bonus like G. So that seems like a solid offer. IIUC, Waymo TC is simply lower than G. Although frankly I don’t understand how they justify that.
From what I’ve heard, Waymo comp (especially base) is higher than G now.
^ So what range L5 can get — either external or internal transfer? Google offer quite frequently over 800k+ RSU for L5 with competitive offers from FB, Apple, Nvidia, Uber etc. I highly doubt Waymo offers that much WSU.
