Got the following offer from amazon yesterday. Please take a look and let me know if I can negotiate more. Thanks. I don't have any other offers. Position - SDE II - L5 Location: Palo Alto YoE: 8 Offer: Base - 182k Sign-on bonus - 1st year - 74k, 2nd year - 56k Stock - 100 units - vesting 5%, 15%, 40% & 40% TC - ~265k Current tc - ~150k, Bay area
Base maxed out.. sign on can be a little more but looks close to max for l5 which can be a step down for 8 yoe
Thanks. Yes, recruiter mentioned 185k is the cap for l5 in bay area. Apparently sde 3 at Amazon requires more experience and hard to get. I see lot of engineers with more than 10 yoe who are sde2 at Amazon.

It would be at max additional 10-15k in your TC but you are almost maxed out for L5 unless you have a strong counter. Nevertheless, it is quite a strong offer and congratulations for it. Solid offer congratulations, very close to max SDE 2, you may another 5k to ~270..Try asking for more sign on 80k and 60k
