After 4 rounds of interview I got a verbal offer from a recruiter at Chase. She said they were going to prepare an official offer next week. EM in Chicago Base: 170 Bonus: 50 (based on performance) What do you think? When should I negotiate it? Before they send me an official email with the numbers or after? What reasons should use to bump it up, let's say 5%? Not that much chances though as they said this is the max range for this position, but I'll give it a try. My previous base was 185K before I was laid off #Chase #JMPC #tech #fintech

It's good to have it on paper (email) but you can negotiate anytime now after getting the initial numbers. Best reason to negotiate is to use competing offer, second reason is to match your previous/current comp. And in fact, you don't really need a reason, you can just tell them you are targeting for x number and see if anything they can do to bring it closer. Congrats btw!
I would try to negotiate by saying you are also interviewing with companies that offer a salary range and give numbers
Did you say yes? Because JP doesn't usually generate written offer (which requires full approvals) until *after* negotiation. If you already said yes, they're not going to be happy about changing terms. Presumably, this is 603/VP and you are pretty high up the scale. I'm an ex-JP manager
What's the level and yoe?
