Received the opening offer for a non-tech L6 marketing role within Ops and was wondering whether I've been low-balled or not; Comp: Base: $135k (Seattle) or $137k (NYC; I currently live in NYC) Sign-On: $35k (year 1), $30k (year 2) RSU: 75 YoE: 8 Additional Questions: 1) Is a $2k bump in base normal for NYC? Seems low to me. 2) Is there any room to negotiate? And if so, what would I be able to ask more of (i.e. Base, Sign-on, RSU, or all) 3) Should I also ask for an annual salary percentage increase (i.e. is that normal?) 4) I'm a bit worried about visibility if I choose to stay in NYC as it would be virtual and wouldn't get too much time-spend with my team. Can virtual employees advance within Amazon the same way as regular on-site ones? 5) Does anyone have any insights working within the Ops department? Good? Bad?
You can also negotiate a bit on sign on for both years particularly year 1. Base at Amazon is capped at 160K for Seattle for everyone so base isn't bad but could be up by a few grand at best
you are being low balled.
Which part of it is being low-balled? And what should I be targeting?
I’m L6 product manager non tech base hired in 2016. Here are my 2016 numbers 1) base $142k 2) yr1 cash “extra” $55k 3) yr2 cash “extra” was $48.7k 4) total rsu vesting over 4 years was 188 shares at about $560 / share. 5) got an extra $15k in moving bonus from the $5k they originally offered. You can negotiate if you are good and Hiring manager wants you. I think I could have gotten more or rejected the $15k in moving bonus but asked for it in stock instead. Best of luck let me know. How it goes.
Is having sign on bonus at year 2 a norm?

If your team does daily standups, your manager is a micromanager
Decent offer for non tech. Can stretch by negotiating for more on RSU. Approx double.
I agree. Wish I had taken form stance on rsus
After being here for a year I realize I could have asked for more rsus. They will say no at first but push harder
