FB was cool decade ago. Instagram is not as popular as it was 5 years back. Snap is also dying company. TikTok is a new company and maybe in their prime age. New generation don't want to be on a same platform with older generation. Boomers are on FB, millennials are on Insta/Snap, Gen Z is using TikTok. Social networking companies are not like Google, Microsoft, Apple, Amazon which are becoming more successful with time but it's come up with expiry date. If any social networking wants to become long term successful then they need to constantly innovate and deliver new products. TC: 340k
How about youtube?
YouTube shorts are the future ?
YouTube is primary for long format videos and many of them are useful. It's not just for entertainment. It's difficult and not sustainable for other companies to create such products. Server cost is itself a big issue and nobody knows YT is profitable or not. Because of many of useful videos on platform and no competition I don't think it's the same case as other platforms.
Is ByteDance hiring any hardware engineers?
Next generation is on Roblox
Good observation.
I'm waiting for TikTok to get slammed with the same data privacy lawsuits as fb/Google. Watch you crash and burn.
Metaverse gonna take on TikTok? GenZ? No one?
you trying to convince yourself here?
gen z is also super active on IG. Used to be active on snap too but that’s kinda died down. But having an IG is pretty much a prereq to having a social life as a gen Z
The data doesn't support your premise. I think what you are suggesting though is that social connection evolves and we have gone from voice to text to photos to video and immersion is next. Agreed that you need to innovate which is why meta and bytedance are working so hard on the meraverse.
Do y’all have any stats on GenX on TikTok cuz I sure see a lot there…
