Flexport founder Ryan Petersen has fired at least five executives who made up recently ousted CEO Dave Clark’s inner circle, The Information reported Thursday. The executives had all worked with Clark at various times during his more than 20-year career at Amazon, where he built out the e-commerce giant’s sprawling fulfillment network. Flexport’s president and chief commercial officer Teresa Carlson, chief people officer Darcie Henry, EVP of global operations Tim Collins, EVP of enterprise product and tech Adrienne Wilhoit and VP and chief of staff Kelly Cheeseman were all let go on Thursday, according to several people familiar with the departures. Clark was pushed out from his role at Flexport just a year after starting as its CEO. He shared the top job with Petersen for six months, before taking over as sole CEO in March and Petersen became the company’s executive chairman. But Petersen and Flexport’s board of directors ultimately decided that Clark’s initiatives were too risky and took issue with his spending during his time as CEO, according to a person close to Flexport, and asked him to resign on Wednesday. https://www.theinformation.com/briefings/flexports-ryan-petersen-ousts-dave-clarks-key-lieutenants
