I worked as a PM at Apple Singapore (tech) in the past and I’ve been trying to get back but it’s so damn hard to even get an interview at Apple US. I’ve got referrals from my ex-coworkers but still never heard back from recruiters. I’ve also applied on their website and nothing. Why is it so hard to get an interview at Apple as an ex-Apple? #apple #boomerang
Job market also really sucks. So there’s that
Currently layoffs perhaps
The careers portal is a black hole for everyone apparently. The only surefire way into the interview process seems to be if a recruiter contacts you.
Not even that, there was a time a recruiter reached me via e-mail then disappeared as soon as I replied 😂
Faced the same issue. I think it's the ego issue.
I am non-regretted. But how do I change
That's the neat part - you can't.
You were in Apple Singapore and are trying for Apple US? That's probably part of your problem. Visa sponsorship and relocation is expensive.
Apple has always been this way… really hard to return back to Apple. Need strong manager support and crazy levels of approvals to return back
Also, do you need visa sponsorship? Many teams don’t want the delay
Yes I do. This is one of the reasons I think I’m not getting contacted by them
We have basically frozen hiring completely, as well
There's a bunch of new jobs getting posted on LinkedIn every day, seems like some hiring is unfrozen?
I’m pretty sure they just leave certain reqs open to collect resumes and look like we are growing to the outside world. However my team is not hiring and I’ve seen a post for the job reposted weekly.
Is it possible that you're non-regretted? Would your former manager endorse your return? That's one side, the other is the fact that there simply may not be a good role available or there is one, but there's also a lot of people applying.
