What happens when most of your team is Indian?
Started at Amazon(retail) last week and given what I have heard here it is likely that I will need to formulate an exit strategy in case of pip or a bad manager. What should I be doing to prep for the next job after amazon. TC 170k
STFU and get to work. While you do that, delete Blind.
Kids - this is your brain on Amazon
Agree with delete blind, but start LC asap.
If people put as much effort into their work as they put thought into getting pipped they probably wouldn't get pipped in the first place.
PIP only happens if you're underperforming, which is something like 7% of people. I think blinders fall into a trap of focusing so much on preparing for interviews via leetcode that they don't actually focus on getting better at software engineering.
So cringy, it’s HARD to fall into the bucket of BOTTOM percentile. Get off of blind and actually do mediocre work
If everyone does mediocre work, who gets the bottom percentile ?
You think in a company with 40k software engineers that there aren’t folks under performing?
LC for an hour each day
You can get into performance management any day and any time. You can read through other threads, there are employees who have been 9 yrs in the same company got into performance coaching. Since you already realized that it’s not a good place to stay, you should start lining up interviews and take leave to prepare for it so that during preparation your manager is not able to distract you. This is the most toxic place I have seen so far
File for FMLA.. take FMLA.. Start interview prep and gtfo
