I have been working for the past two years as a UI Engineer at a small consulting company in Chicago (200ish ppl) where we work for a big (2B+ valuation) startup. Apart from that i have been working on numerous side projects at the same time (after work hours) which helps my company build its portfolio and get more clients using those projects. I have worked on building 5 hybrid apps. 5-6 POCs few of which have been implemented after the POCs were successful. For the past 18 months 95k/yr flat. Basic medical and dental. No RSU, no bonus. Also, i am writing a book with Packt which will be published in q4 this year. We don't really have a appraisal process and we aren't given any KPIs. What should be the ideal salary for situations like these? Edit: I have Little over 4 years of experience and the apps mentioned above were built by me and one more person (who did the backend)
The best way to approach this is to interview around elsewhere to get a benchmark of how much other companies are willing to pay you. Take the offer, or bring it back for a match.
Bring back for a match may result in a short term bump but will not help for long term if you would have other reasons to change.
