Hi! I'm posting for a friend since she's still in school and doesn't have a blind account. She's currently first year in her master's, international student. She's deciding between two summer internship offers. 1. Software Development Engineer Intern at Expedia. 2. Program Manager at Microsoft. Both in Seattle. Her main concern is: 1. Not every employer is willing to sponsor H1B for PM, so it's potentially harder to jump to another PM job if she chooses to continue the career path as PM. Though, MS has been extremely thoughtful in visa sponsorship, like transferring them to the Canada office and come back on L visa 2. The hourly pay of MS is only 85% that of Expedia. This may be because Expedia differentiates pay between bachelors's and master's, but MS may not. And the perks of MS (gym fee, relocation, etc) may not happen if remote internship. 3. Expedia has laid off 3000 employees (500 in Seattle) earlier this year, and she's not sure if the internship offer will be taken back or she'll get the return offer. Is it easier to go from SWE to PM than PM to SWE?
Ok seems pretty saturated. I’d go with swe

MS, they're very flexible on letting people switch between PM/SWE from what I've seen.
