Hi, I have the final interview for Expedia in which one of the rounds focus on system design, system thinking and general SDLC concepts. I wanted to know what sort of questions would one expect in the system design part. New to app side of things, I have familiarized myself with design questions like rate limiter, chat system, auto search suggestions, notification system but wanted to know whether would be highly detailed or does a high level knowledge would be enough. Any help would be appreciated, thanks. #tpm
System design from TPM? Practise 3-4 most commonly asked questions - like web crawler or tiny url or how to build a travel website.
Thank you. I have practiced tiny url and travel web site, have started the web crawler but thought might not be asked and ended up learning things like notification system, chat system and finally search autocomplete suggestions.
We don’t ask these questions to Sr SDEs 😅. Be confident, you are doing great
So did you get the job as TPM. I come from program management too and struggle with System Design. Any tips will help.
Behavioral (talk about tech details if possible), System design, Scrum methodologies, conflict resolution, Handling cross team communication
Thank you for the feedback. As for the system design part of it, do you have any more insights on what sort questions it would be? I am fairly confident about the scrum methodologies and ceremonies and conflict resolution side of things.
Pretty std system design. Like food delivery app or ride sharing. Same as what SWE jobs get asked
