I live on the west coast and used dating apps heavily for a few months. I luckily met a girl through a mutual friend and got off the apps. Here are my observations: All women I met were less attractive in person compared to their photos. This was exaggerated for Asian women, for whom there were usually a 3-point attraction difference between photos and how they looked. White women looked closest to their photos. Fat people can be very creative on hiding it. But you get the hang of these tricks as you keep using the apps. I fell for it twice though. There is an overwhelming feeling of being at a leftover party when using the apps. People are super greedy. The ones who were genuinely interested in me where the ones who made less money than me and were objectively less attractive than me. All of these instances sounded like an unfair exchange of values. The ones who were equal in my opinion, were wishy-washy about things.
Dating apps has certainly been a waste of both time and money for me. The few I met from the apps were living in another world of their own, away from reality, I could not think of even asking them on another date. Asians are the worst. Still single, but I am okay with it, than ending up with a mismatch and wreck life. Lucky you found someone outside of it.
Can you elaborate on the second paragraph. I'm genuinely curious.
I’m guessing body fat percentage
On apps…you win some and you loose some. Stay away from fakers and gold-diggers. Asians try to emulate K-POP lifestyle, so watchout!
What is the K-Pop lifestyle? Can you explain?
This dating landscape is approaching apocalyptic levels of difficulty. Obviously chads are getting more and more while we are left with nothing.
Why don't you become a Chad then
Because not everybody has the fabric to become a chad. You have to have potential and that is something I don't have.
"The ones who were genuinely interested in me were the ones who made less money than me and objectively less attractive "....sigh, that hit close. And I am a ♀️ Hard to find attractive AND equal NW/TC
Same here, so tough to find an equal when it comes to success, NW and TC. Looks like we’re in the same boat as female fraternity. Would love to hear how you’re coping. Could you pls DM me? :) Ran out of DMs for this month
When do you ask TC to even know they make less than you ? Won’t they label you gold digger ? Or is it just a guess.
It’s easy to guess based on someone’s profession
Yeah it’s kinda true about Asian girls looking less attractive in person than their photos most of the time. I especially think FOBs are guilty of this. They use FaceTune or whatever
That’s a blanket statement. I have met more men who are fatter than their pictures, their stomach rounder than pictures. That doesn’t mean everyone is like that. And that kind of deception wont take you far anyways.
True, I just lower my expectations anyways. I have met a few people who actually turned out better than their photos but that’s rare
I’m new to online dating and it is really draining. The two in person dates I’ve had have both been bummers — the first felt like a kid he was my age doing an MBA but appear so immature, the second is leading an interesting life, but no substance to his personality, and now he will send me single line texts out of the blue. I don’t understand his communication style. I connected with one incredibly attractive man whom I quickly found out was actually 58, and using pictures that were 20+ years old. He said it was because he didn’t want to be judged, I saw it as deception. It’s a jungle on the other side too.

“Fat people can be very creative on hiding it. But you get the hang of these tricks as you keep using the apps. I fell for it twice though.” 🤣 There's an old saying in Tennessee — I know it's in Texas, probably in Tennessee — that says, fool me once, shame on — shame on you. Fool me — you can't get fooled again.
