Hi there, I just received an email from a sourcer at Facebook to schedule an exploratory call. Does anyone have an experience with these type if calls and their intent?
These are harmless calls to get you into their pipeline.
They're just for talking about your interests
Nothing. She might ask you some technical question such as runtime of quick sort, is linkedlist or array faster for searching etc.
Sourcers ask that these days? Lol
Yeah. It's basic questions. I think one sourcer asked me Bubble sort vs merge sort - which is better 😂
Great! Thanks everyone for the quick response
I would suggest , take your time to prepare and then schedule a phone screen
Mostly they reach out and then follow up is poor
I had one of these 30min video calls and was offered a position the next day with no on-site. From what I undetstand, this isn't the norm but would vary team-by-team based on how you'd fit.
She could be cute. Definitely take the call.

When I had one of these, the recruiter from Facebook spent most the call selling Facebook and going over their process and their teams. They shared some documents, some interview tips, and then requested that I contact them when I was ready to interview. It was a very casual conversation
