Hi all, I recently moved to los angels and the tech scene is pretty average here. Is there a possibility that if you get through interviews with FAANG or other SF companies , they let you work remotely in Los Angeles
Google has multiple offices in LA (YouTube has a big one)
Try Netflix. I’ve heard they are boosting the eng hiring in Los Angeles now.
They all do. But no engineering teams. Mostly marketing. Snap has a good presence though. Wonder if you do well in FAANG interviews, you can bring it up, at the end like “ cough cough , I gotta work in Los Angeles y’all“
This is false about no engineering teams
Is it? I might be mistaken. I do see postings from Netflix and amazon . Would you care to elaborate please?
OP, you moved to LA to work at kaiser permanente?
Lol and calls tech scene average based on working at Kaiser
Ha ha. I know how that sounds . But I moved from Atlanta . And trust me KP is as far as it gets in Atlanta. Last September before finalizing my move , I did interview at Netflix and amazon in LA. Screwed then up. So not sure I could reapply again. And I think I did come across as condescending but that was not the intention. I have a couple of interviews lined up with certain ad tech, but wanted to know from LA natives about the tech scene
Even Facebook Dallas has more engineers than Facebook LA. Move to Bay Area like almost everyone from FB did.

Literally all FAANG has offices in the greater Los Angeles area
admittedly, don’t seem to be hiring engineers too eagerly.
