FAANG interviews passed, but not moving forward.

I had my Google online assessment and technical screen two weeks ago. The recruiter reached out and mentioned that I performed really well and am now waiting to hear from the hiring team about the next steps. However, the recruiter mentioned that the hiring team is leaning towards internal candidates to move forward, but since I performed well, my scores are valid for up to a year. The recruiter also suggested that I keep applying to other roles, but Google Career only allows you to apply for three roles in a month, and they send standard rejections for almost everything. I also believe that the recruiter reached out because I had a referral. Additionally, the recruiter sent a Google Form for the job application, and I believe that recruiters look at the Google Form answers more than the applications. I also believe that being rejected for not moving forward with an interview even after passing is pretty discriminatory. I have been unemployed for more than a year now, and it takes a huge toll on physical and mental health to prepare for the interviews. Just recently, Amazon and Meta did the same thing to me. Amazon interviewed me for L5 and downgraded to L4, however didn't extend an offer stating that they are not hiring for L4s. Meta said there were three strong hires and one hire for my interview, but the hiring team chose someone else. The same story happened with Microsoft as well. In the past year I actually ended up creating two technical start ups from scratch but VC community said they aren't VC scaleable. One of them is a B2B and out of 1000 businesses in the US that are the customers, 4 are using my product that is a multi tenant end to end application involves both Android and iOS apps. I developed and deployed them myself, this means I can get the shit done, just not market it. I don't think I can get more customers and revenue from those isn't enough to pay my monthly bills. I will likely become homeless soon if I don't land a job. I have the following questions. 1: Googlers, what do you think I should do? Is there someone who can help me land a full round interview given that my technical screen went well? 2: Hiring Managers, Founders or anyone else, if you want someone who had experience, developed end to end applications that includes backend server, APIs, databases, web and mobile applications with integrated payments and AI based predictions, I am your guy. I would love to get an interview and be a part of your team. YOE: 7+ Comp: 0 Work auth: US Citizen Edit: typo

Contract gigs are the answer. Take one and continue interviewing.

Don't waste time looking for Google gigs. Keep iterating on products. Try to sell the current ones at nominal amounts or practice selling them to possible buyers. Send ur 3 applications and keep churning

+1 don't waste time being hung up on Google or FAANG in general. Sorry about your situation Op, you deserve better. Hang in there! Since you're meeting the FAANG hiring bar, I'd say shamelessly market that to try and land more interviews. Leave out the bit about your results being valid for 1 year though :)

I got the same result. I heard a lot of people got the same results after passing all rounds for onsite and they're stuck in team matching to receive an offer. I guess that's just how bad the market is. Layoffs have resulted in a lot of internal transfers snagging these roles.

you are literally on fire, why not invest in marketing your startups and reaching financial freedom? you don't need VC, just indiehack + consulting to keep up

even internal roles at Google are choked right now...100s of applications in a week for a single role

Sorry to hear. Have you been applying to other companies outside of FAANG as well? I think if you are willing to go out of state and apply to non-tech companies, there might be better chances.

I was in team match last year, then the interview result expired. I interviewed again earlier this year and I am in team match again. I only got interview calls in certain lower COL locales like Atlanta. I am based on the West Coast so I have no interest.
